“I can say I have learned a lot at Haskana.  I think the best thing about Haskana Institute is you can get more experience because you can work on clients more than other schools.  Its a kind of real world experience that makes me feel like I am in a salon and not in school.  Besides working on the floor you learn about theory as in the science of cosmetology.  In my opinion cosmetology is an art and science.  We can learn from basic to advanced and different techniques and it is worth it.  Special thanks to the director of Haskana, Jenae Wiedemann, for teaching us how to be successful in this industry.  Also, a big thanks to all the teachers for being with students, caring about us, teaching us and telling us what we need to do to perfect our skills.  I really appreciate Haskana for all of these reasons.  For me it means a lot….I found my way at Haskana!”

“Finally the time has come to start my practical testing.  Being one step closer to graduating is very exciting.  I have attended Haskana for almost 2 years now and I have learned so much.  I am very grateful to the teachers and director at Haskana for making it such a wonderful experience.  I feel very confident to provide services to clients and to meet their desires and needs.  At Haskana I’ve not only learned about hair, but also how to communicate very well with clients.  I look forward to my future in hairstyling.!”

“I just realized my big adventure with cosmetology school is getting close to the end.  It makes me sad because for so many months I was a part of the “Haskana team”.  I really like to be there.  I like the very helpful and knowledgable teachers and very nice and friendly students.  Phase IV was the last part of our curriculum.  I completed all PMHD’s, highlights, perms, curls, etc and also I had the opportunity to complete my 600 services on real clients.  I could practice my skills every time I was at school.  I will miss Haskana but I will always remember that my great cosmetology education came from here.”

“I enjoyed coming to school at Haskana.  I have learned so much from all the teachers as well as from all the wonderful students.  I am grateful to have found such an amazing school with such great students and staff.  There are many things I will miss and many good experiences I will take with me that will help me with my career.  I am very appreciative of the time I have spent here.  I am very satisfied that I have made a great choice and the best decision with Haskana!”

“Over the past months of learning new things Haskana Institute of Cosmetology has given me a great opportunity to learn things I didn’t know before, such as coloring.  There are many things I love about this school  The teachers are fantastic.  They are helpful and if you have trouble with any type of skill they will help you though it until you get it.  Another thing I love about the school is the students.  They are really good at helping each other.  I also like the fact that we had flexible schedules.  It made it convenient to maintain my job and family life.  The hands on training was also a great advantage for me because I could take as much time as I needed to master my skills.  I always had a fun and amazing day at school.  Jenae Wiedemann, the school owner/director, is a fantastic person and has really helped me during my training at the school.  Haskana really is the best school to learn cosmetology.”

“Finally! I can’t believe it’s coming to an end. Since starting at Haskana, I have acquired so many valuable skills. This past year has truly taught me so much, and I am going to be sad to leave here. I have always known that I wanted to go to cosmetology school and now that goal has come true. I cam to Haskana knowing almost nothing about the technical aspects of doing hair. Now, I am happy to say I have learned so much about color, cutting, updo’s and styling. I am very happy to be done with PMHD’s (pivotal movements in hair design) and full sets..thank God! I look forward to working more at my current salon and developing the foundation that Haskana has given me. Haskana is a great place for those individuals who can learn at their own pace, enjoy hands on, and like the freedom of making their own schedule. I could not have done this without the help of my teachers and the constant motivation from my friends and family to keep pushing forward.”

“The decision to come to Haskana Institute has been a great choice for me.  The atmosphere is very positive and everyone is nice and accommodating.  Having the comfort that I can ask a teacher for help at any giving time gives me the motivation and willingness to move forward with the program. The teachers are knowledgeable, eager to help students, and help correct their mistakes. In phase I, I learned about the fundamentals of applying hair dyes and color theory.  I also learned to identify and style each client’s hair based on their hair texture, density and porosity. Understanding these differences will allow me to style a wide variety of clients in the future.  Learning how to properly do facials and facial makeup has given me the confidence to start practicing on family and friends. In phase II, I had the opportunity to build closer relationships with other students and teachers.  My fellow classmates inspired me with their intelligence, talent and creativity. A big part of this phase was learning the standard steps of pedicuring, nail tips, wraps and gels. I thought I knew all there was to know about these techniques, but this phase gave me the real knowledge needed to do it correctly. In phase III the repetition started to pay off and make cutting and styling feel second nature.  With the help of instructors, I was able to experiment and push my boundaries further, in order to help clients achieve a specific look. Cutting hair was my biggest challenge going into Haskana, but by phase III, the real-world practice has helped me build my confidence.  My initial intuition was that hair cutting was an art, but learning about reference points, angles and guides taught me the importance of science and technique. The nicest surprise during phase III, was when clients began to visit and request my services on a routine basis. The final phase of the program was an opportunity to continue to hone my skills, especially with hair cutting, ombres, manicures and highlighting.  I also learned valuable lessons on the business of salons, managing clients, selecting and selling products. My independence with client services increased in the final phase, and I required help much less frequently from instructors.Attending Haskana has been very challenging and fulfilling.  I feel well equipped to service clients desires and needs. I’m very grateful to the staff and director of Haskana. As a future hair stylist, I’m looking forward to expressing my creativity and artistry on my future clients.”

“Being a student of Haskana Institute of Cosmetology was on of the best decisions I have come to make.  I signed on for the 18 month contract.  These past 16 months have flew by!  Within my time here I have come to learn more than I thought I ever could about hair.  I started at the lowest beginner level possible and have grown to be a very talented, creative and confident hairstylist!  Being a student here hasn’t only helped me grow to become a hairstylist, but has also helped me grow as a person in general.  I’ve learned a lot about myself as a whole and can’t wait to progress in the beauty industry!  I want to give a special thanks to Jenae, Julie, Carole and Trina for helping me start off my career goal!”
Sincerely,

“My year at Haskana was a great and hectic one.  When I first started I was super overwhelmed.  I felt like there was too much to do in a one year program.  It took me about 3 months to get into the swing of things.  I learned in the first 3 months being a perfectionist is too stressful, keeping busy helps pass the time and you are only as great as you want yourself to be.  Over the course of 12 months I learned that self-motivation gets you a long way. Beauty school is so much more complicated than just taking a pair of scissors to someones hair.  My experience at Haskana was a very positive one.  I will miss everything about beauty school but I know I will take everything I learned everywhere I go.”

“Since the very beginning of high school I loved the fashion industry.  Because of that I became a student at Haskana Institute as soon as I graduated!  I had other meetings to take a look at other beauty schools but Haskana was the first and last school I looked at.  As soon as I walked in I knew that this was the school for me.  I canceled all the other tours at other schools and started a week later.  In a very short amount of time I made friends and already felt like I knew so much. The teachers are professional and yet you can talk to them and it feels like you have known them for years.  Being hands on right from the start made it so fun for me and helped me get the confidence I needed to start working on the floor.  Once I got on the floor I felt confident and I knew that if I needed any help at all the teachers would be very happy to help me! From then on Haskana has offered many forms of education and events to make the experience even more rewarding.  I made friends there that I know that I will have forever in both the students and the teachers.  At times the work can be challenging, repetitive and at times feels impossible, but it all works out in the end and is there to help YOU.  You learn more than just how to cut and color hair, you learn how to be professional and how to carry yourself.  You learn how to get jobs and will even have a chance to go with Jenae (the owner) to salons of your choice.  Jenae has helped me so much with my confidence in both hair and professionalism.  When graduation day came I was sad to leave this place I called home for almost 2 years and yet excited to see what this career has in store for me in the years to come.  Thanks to this school, I graduated with confidence and a job I couldn’t be more excited about!”

“I started at Haskana when I was just about to turn 16 and was a little nervous that I wasnt going to be able to fit in. After looking around at many other cosmetology schools I knew right when I walked into Haskana it was the perfect school for me. I automatically loved the warm welcoming “Hello” from everyone on the floor. Just after a few weeks Haskana started feeling like a second home to me, and the other students became like a family. Each teacher took part in making the learning process fun and easy. It was always nice to have a variety of teachers who all had there own positive way of teaching. Senior students were also always available to help and keep you on track. Each student gets the chance to work with clients on a daily basis, which leaves students ready to jump right into a salon. When graduation day came I felt  confident enough to start my cosmetology career. Haskana Institute is the perfect school for motivated individuals wanting to pursue a career in cosmetology. Thank you to all the fabulous teachers and students that helped me along the way- it was an awesome experience.”

I speak so highly of this school to everyone i know. I was a student for almost 2 years and graduated feeling VERY confident and VERY well prepared to work in a salon. The teachers were there with me every step of the way. Most of them have been working in a salon for 10+ years and truly know what they’re doing, making me feel confident in the salon services I give to clients. I love the hands on learning i received. I feel in this industry you need all the hands on training you can get and that’s exactly what i know i got walking out of there. The girls here are like family. They take you in making you feel like you’re part of them. It’s nice being on a personal level with some of the teachers who tell you a thing or two about the real salon world. Jenae, the director, has a salon in her home and gives amazing advice on how to start your own business yourself. Julie, one of the teachers, has been working in a salon for over 20 years and was once an educator for Clairol and she really knows her stuff. Carol, a teacher, has worked on movie sets and etc. and can tell you a thing or two on how to get you onto that path. As for all of the other teachers, they each have their special touch and can give you great advice and can guide you into your career. I loved Haskana and I will recommend this school to anyone who asks about it. I promise you WILL walk out feeling confident about your work, as I do. It is truly a life changing experience and now I am so excited to start my career and fulfill my dreams.

– To Jenae: Thank you so much for everything, I really appreciate everything you have taught me. You and Julie both made me feel confident in my work and I couldn’t be happier with my training. I am so excited to work in a salon now ALL thanks to you guys!

“I can honestly say that Haskana Institute of Cosmetology is one of the BEST beauty schools around! It isn’t just a school, but a family. I have met some of the greatest people at Haskana Institute of Cosmetology, and have learned so much through the incredibly skilled staff. One of the best parts about Haskana Institute of Cosmetology is their flexibility. I was able to balance my regular high school hours, my job, and other activities that I was involved with. I was greatly satisfied with Haskana Institute of Cosmetology and I would highly recommend this school to everyone!”

“As a mother of 2 children, Haskana Institute provided me with the flexibility I was looking for in a cosmetology school. Book work and classroom time are limited so I had more time to learn skills, ask questions and service clients. Haskana provides a salon atmosphere where everyone works as a team, learning skills required to work in a salon after graduation. The staff is genuinely concerned with each students future and is there to make you the best you can be. I felt very confident starting my first job in a salon after graduation because I had so many interactions with clients and I learned what it takes to be successful. Haskana Institute is a unique opportunity! Where else can you set your own schedule and accomplish your goals at your own pace?”

“I loved everything about being at Haskana. The teachers are great, and I loved being able to work one-on-one with them. I learned so much, and met so many great people. I formed many friendships with everyone at school. It was such a great experience for me, and I’m so fortunate to have been able to attend school here. The flexible schedules helped me out so much, because I was able to hold a job, as well as attend high school. I would recommend Haskana to anyone who is interested in cosmetology.”

“Attending Haskana Institute of Cosmetology was a life changing experience for me and I wouldn’t change it for the world. My mom had always taken us to Haskana to get our hair done. I just loved the atmosphere and the way the people interacted. Haskana prepared me for what the real world is really like. Some schools teach you book work, then you do a couple of clients and then it’s right back to the books. At Haskana, you learn the basics and then you go straight to working on clients. For me, that was the best because I’m a hands-on learner and I was urged to learn cuts and techniques quickly. The things I learned at Haskana really shined when I started at my salon. I found myself getting clients as walk-ins and having them come back. I believe this was because my confidence was built so high at school. I couldn’t ask for a better education!”
